About this course

A prop firm challenge gives you a shot at a $10,000 to $200,000 account for a fee. Most traders lose that fee, not because they can't trade, but because they don't understand the rules, the maths or the pressure. This guide fixes all three, in 14 practical lessons.

What you'll learn

  • How prop firms really work, and the evaluation models compared (one-step, two-step, instant funding)
  • Drawdown rules decoded: static, trailing and daily limits, server-time resets, and the open-trade detail that fails more challenges than anything else
  • The small print: consistency rules, news bans, weekend holding, EAs and copy trading
  • The mathematics of passing, from 20,000 simulated challenges: how much to risk per trade, and why a deadline changes everything
  • Position sizing from your drawdown, and three risk models compared (fixed, stepped and protective)
  • A complete game plan, and a full 30-day challenge followed day by day
  • Why good traders fail, with five case studies and the rule that would have saved each one
  • Protecting a funded account, payouts and scaling, and choosing a firm safely

Templates included

A rules comparison sheet, a distance-to-failure worksheet, a position-size worksheet, a one-page challenge plan, daily and weekly checklists, and your capstone prop trading plan. Use them with the Prop Challenge tracker in your Laxarr journal.

Who it's for

Traders preparing for their first challenge, and traders who've paid for challenges and failed them. You'll get the most from it if you know the basics of forex (Level 1 or similar). No guide can promise you'll pass; this one makes sure a normal losing run never ends your challenge.

How self-paced works

  • One lesson at a time

The next lesson opens once you've watched every video in the one before it, all the way through.

  • Keep what you finish

As soon as you complete a lesson, you can download its videos and guides.

  • A clear deadline

You have 3 months from the day you buy. After that the course closes, whether you've finished or not.

Lessons

  1. 1

    How Prop Firms Actually Work

Before you pay for a challenge, understand the business on the other side of it: where the money comes from, what "funded" really means, and who this path suits.

  2. 2

    Evaluation Models Compared

One-step, two-step or instant funding? Targets, minimum days, time limits and fees decide how hard a challenge really is. Here's how to compare them and pick the one that fits the way you trade.

    • Evaluation Models ComparedGuide
  3. 3

    Drawdown Rules Decoded

Most failed challenges end on a drawdown rule, often one the trader didn't fully understand. This lesson takes every kind apart with worked numbers, so you always know exactly how far you are from failing.

    • Drawdown Rules DecodedGuide
  4. 4

The Small Print That Fails Traders

Some rules close accounts without a single losing trade: consistency rules, news bans, weekend holding, EAs and copy trading. Learn them before you pay, not after.

  5. 5

    The Mathematics of Passing

A challenge is a race between the profit target and the loss limits. Simple maths, and 20,000 simulated challenges, show exactly how your win rate, reward and risk per trade decide who wins it.

    • The Mathematics of PassingGuide
  6. 6

    Position Sizing Under Prop Rules

Turn a risk percentage into an exact lot size on any market, and size from the drawdown you have left, not the balance you see. This is the skill that keeps challenges alive.

    • Position Sizing Under Prop RulesGuide
  7. 7

Risk Models That Pass: Fixed, Stepped and Protective Risk

How much should you risk on the next trade, given how the last few went and how close you are to a limit or the target? Three risk models, compared on the same trades and across 20,000 simulated challenges.

  8. 8

    Your Challenge Game Plan

A challenge isn't the time to discover how you trade. Turn your strategy, the firm's rules and your risk model into one page you follow from the first trade to the last.

  9. 9

The 30-Day Challenge, Day by Day

Follow one trader through a full $100,000 challenge: the preparation, each week's decisions, the bad days and the finish, with the journal entries that kept the plan on track.

    Why Good Traders Fail Evaluations

Most traders who fail a challenge could trade well enough to pass it. They fail on pressure, size and rules. Here are the patterns, five case studies, and the rule that would have prevented each one.

    Protecting a Funded Account

Passing is half the job. Many funded accounts are lost in their first few weeks. Here's how to switch from passing mode to keeping mode, build a buffer, and recover calmly from a drawdown.

    • Protecting a Funded AccountGuide
  12. 12

    Payouts, Scaling and Withdrawals

Getting funded is the start; getting paid is the goal. How profit splits, payout schedules, payout-time rules and scaling plans work, and how to get your money without surprises.

    • Payouts, Scaling and WithdrawalsGuide

    Choosing a Prop Firm Safely

The prop firm industry is young and mostly unregulated. Some firms have closed suddenly, changed rules overnight or refused payouts. Here's how to check a firm before paying, and how to spread your risk.

    The Prop Trader's Operating Manual

Everything in this guide, on a few pages you'll actually use: checklists, worksheets, your rule sheet, a budget for challenge fees, and your complete prop trading plan.
